The Cubs Who Wouldn’t Sleep
A small story from South Luangwa
Evening was settling over South Luangwa.
The lionesses were resting, and most of the cubs were asleep.
But one little cub was not tired at all.
First, the cub found something to play with.
Soon the others began to wake.
Before long, sleeping was forgotten.
There were paws to chase, tails to catch and siblings to wrestle.
The lionesses watched while the cubs explored.
Eventually, even the most energetic little lions grew tired.
By the end of the evening, the pride was quiet again.
At least until tomorrow.
